1 / 2Miriam and Sidney Stoneman Playground
π Back Bay West, MA
Built in 2011 near the Hatch Shell, this Charles River Esplanade playground targets ages 5-12 with climbing structures, a zip line, spinners, and swings. Toddler-specific equipment is available at the nearby Fiedler playground.
Very nice place. A little loud because it's near the road. My kids had much fun
π Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age kids aged 5-12 who can tackle the zip line and climbing structures independently. Toddlers under 3 are better served at the adjacent Fiedler playground. The waterfront setting adds scenic value for accompanying adults.

Overview
Situated near the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge on the Charles River Esplanade, this playground was purpose-built to develop upper-body strength in kids ages 5-12. Equipment includes zip lines, climbing towers, spinners, and swings. Reviewers praise the riverside setting and multi-sensory play options. The Green Line (Boylston St) and Red Line (Charles/MGH) both serve the area. Road noise from Storrow Drive is noticeable and doesn't deter visitors.
