1 / 3National Toy Train Museum
๐ Ronks, NY
Dedicated toy train museum in Ronks featuring detailed multi-scale layouts with interactive buttons, a free audio tour device, and day/night lighting cycles that illuminate miniature buildings. Suits train fans from toddlers to grandparents.
What a perfect collection of all-scale trains. Great interactive displays. Good place to bring kids. Friendly staff and very informative. They have a self-guided talking tour that gives you a lot of history. The displays were well-lit, but what I loved even more was that a few of the displays cycled through day and night, and all the buildings lit up, very cool. Definitely would recommend it to any age train enthusiast.
๐ Family Action Verdict
A genuine destination for families with train-loving children of any age. The interactive buttons and audio tour give kids agency over the experience, and the day/night lighting effects create a wow moment that resonates across age groups.

โSuch a fun museum! We were staying at the Red Caboose Motel and this is located right next to it. They have lots of detailed train layouts with interactive buttons. They also give you a listening device that tells you the history of toy trains and the different gauges as you walk through. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!โ

โWonderful displays, great historical background information and an amazing staff. They also on occasion have a bargain lot where I bought a postwar O scale passenger car consist to add to my collection. For those who grew up to owning model trains (especially putting one around your tree on Xmas time), this is the place for you.โ
