Nickerson Dunes Pitch and Putt
š Lido Beach, NY
A scenic 9-hole pitch and putt course among the dunes at Nickerson Beach, perfect for beginners and kids learning golf. Well-maintained course but multiple families report poor customer service.
Definitely 5 star. This place is perfect for kids and beginners and very well maintained. The poison ivy guy was off base. It's not an issue but wouldn't go into the high grass. Great little place for a quick hour of your time and practice chipping putting and sand shots. Well worth and recommend.
š Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families with kids learning golf or wanting a quick practice session. The course itself gets praise for being beginner-friendly and well-kept, but multiple families report serious customer service problems including rudeness and payment disputes that could ruin your visit.

āThis was a lot of fun. Iām a beginner and it was a great experience practicing for a bigger course. It was well maintained and not so busyā

āI've played more than a few pitch and putts in the past where the tracks have been friendly to beginners with areas that allow for good misses but this track only has a few holes that allow that, so I'm just giving this track 3 stars. While I'm not a beginner, this track has a lot more difficult holes than easier holes that will be more suited for competition, including elevated greens, blinds shots, brush too close to the greens, etc. Nevertheless, the bent grass greens ran true when we played, so that was a plus for me. Bottom line, this track can be enjoyable for seasoned golfers but unfortunately will not be appropriate for families with beginners in the group.ā

āGood beginner course, but when I went one lady worker was very rude and disrespectful to me and my family, immediately started accusing us of not paying and threatening to trespass us, after returning the club we rented luckily her co worker kept a cool head and he informed the woman that we did in fact pay for the golf round. After that she told us to head to the exit and being my first time at that course, I asked politely where it was and the worker snapped at us and said go back to where you came from. Again the course was a good short beginner course, but Nickerson Dunes Pitch and Putt need to train their workers better so they treat their costumers with respect.ā
