1 / 2Parkwood Sports Complex
π Great Neck, NY
Comprehensive sports complex featuring Olympic pool, lazy river, ice skating rink, tennis courts, and recreation programs. Popular for swimming lessons, birthday parties, and year-round family activities.
The absolute best pool club complex on Long Island. Huge olympic size pool, animal spray fountains for kids, a stupendous lazy river to float around, an activities center down below, tennis, paddle and volley ball, basket ball and a huge ice skating rink in the winter. 2 food concessions or BYO food! Lots of activities for the kids and adults! Even a dog day to go in the pool on the last day of the summer!
π Family Action Verdict
This is an excellent choice for families seeking a comprehensive sports complex with pools, skating, and activities for all ages. The facilities are top-notch and well-maintained, making it ideal for regular visits throughout the year. However, be prepared for strict rules, potential pool closures, and consider bringing your own food to avoid high concession prices.

βItβs great to have the Parkwood Sports Complex nearby. Our kids enjoy swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter, making the most of their weekends. The prices are reasonable, and the facility is well-maintainedβit truly feels like one of the highlights of our neighborhood.β

βThe pool facilities are excellent. They are roomy, large, and overall great. However, there are two main reasons that brought this review down to three stars. Number one is a policy that they have. If you are a new guest, Parkwood sports complex requires that you have a member of the pool scan you in. (with this limit being two.) My first time coming here, I had to ask strangers to scan me and my friends in; which was extremely frustrating. Second, there are shutdowns weekly. Some kid poops in the pool, the chlorine is malfunctioning, etc. Over the course of last summer, my friends and I had to leave Parkwood several times due to these shut downs. Also, the snacks are extremely overpriced.β
