1 / 2Playground
π Treasure Island, CA
One of two playgrounds on Treasure Island, San Francisco, known for elevated climbing structures that go beyond typical park equipment. A local favorite for families making the trip across the Bay Bridge.
Great little climbing park
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with active school-age children who want serious climbing challenges in an unusual setting. The Treasure Island location makes it a genuine outing rather than a quick neighborhood stop. Younger toddlers may find the elevated structures less accessible.

βa review from amom2kidsandapark.com Iβm not sure why but Treasure Island has always felt like a mystery to me. I had never been but I've driven through countless times (as we all have on our way to and from the city). When I saw there are two playgrounds on Treasure Island, I knew it was time to give it a go. The βred playgroundβ on Treasure Island is located on the corner of Avenue E and 13th St. It is completely gated. There is a slide (accessible by ladder only), climbing arch, rope arch, suspended lily pads, spinning cups, rope arch with tunnel panels, curved rope bridge, and wobbly platforms. It gives off obstacle course vibes for sure. The swing set has bucket and standard swings. All play areas have soft rubber flooring, but between there is sand. The picnic benches and sitting benches are in the sand. Strollers are still an option since the sand isnβt loose. There is a huge field right beside the playground. We didnβt attempt to go in the gate but there appeared to be locked. We were pretty lucky as far as our timing to this playground. You may notice it. There was a huge fire truck parked right outside the gate. The kids were stoked. Just across the road is a cafe that looked yummy but not too kid-friendly. No shade No bathrooms Street parking (pull in and parallel)β

βFun local playground. A lot of climbing stuff which makes it better than other parks IMO. I take my boys here and its really cool that some of the structures are high.β

Overview
This Treasure Island playground stands out for its climbing-focused design, with structures reaching heights that reviewers specifically call out as a notch above standard parks. Located at the northern end of the island off 13th Street, it's one of two play areas on Treasure Island β a destination in itself given the island's unique setting between San Francisco and Oakland. Parents bring kids for the climbing variety; the island location adds an adventure element to any visit.
