First time taking the kids to this park. They liked it.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for school-age kids from the immediate neighborhood who can navigate older equipment. Toddlers and crawlers need adult supervision around rusting metal edges. Not a destination playground — more a quick local stop when newer parks aren't nearby.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Do a visual check of metal structures for rust or sharp edges before kids climb
Inspect the sand surface for debris before toddlers play ground-level
🎟️Pair this stop with a nearby park if you need more amenities like shade or restrooms

This play ground is in poor condition. The city has let the park deteriorate. Metal has begun to rust and there are a couple of spots if your kiddo happens to fall he/she might need a tetanus shot. Sand looked like it hadn't been clean in sometime with all the cigarette butts.

Overview

This compact neighborhood playground sits off SW 261st Terrace in a residential Homestead pocket. Kids enjoy the equipment on first visits, and the location is convenient for nearby families. A 2024 review flagged rusting metal structures and uncleaned sand with cigarette debris, signaling deferred city maintenance. Parents of toddlers should do a quick walk-through before playtime.
