Celebrated our 27th anniversary here and it was such a fun date night. We got the love seat option which I highly recommend. It came with blankets and hot cocoa. Seating is first come, first served, so arrive early to pick your spot and enjoy the skyline views. They provide comfortable headphones with English or Spanish audio options. Snacks and drinks are available and you can bring your own food but no drinks. It's cozy, romantic and a great nightlife experience in the city.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with kids 10 and older who can manage open-air weather and a later evening schedule. The loveseat upgrade with blankets makes chilly nights comfortable. Toddlers and young children will find the unstructured seating and nighttime timing a poor fit. A genuinely memorable outing for tweens and teens.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Arrive early β€” seating is first-come, first-served and loveseats go fast
⏰Bring layers; heaters concentrate near the center loveseats and outer seats get cold
🎟️Outside food is allowed, so pack your own snacks and skip the sparse snack bar
πŸš—Premium loveseat tickets include blankets and hot cocoa β€” worth the upgrade in cooler months

β€œHad a great time with my mom for Halloween at the rooftop cinema. We caught the early show and watched Halloweentown. Surprisingly we were all adults watching a kids movie. Super cute film and the weather was perfect! Not hot or cold. We paid for the premium seats with popcorn and best seats in house. It was worth it and had I known it was almost empty I would have chosen different seats and saved a few dollars for the same view. Overall great value. We will definitely return.”

β€œWe totally enjoyed our 1st rooftop movie. The chairs are comfy and we loved the blankets. It was a bit cold, even with heaters, because the heaters are in the center by the loveseats. You can bring your own snacks. Seeing The Princess Bride on a movie screen was "inconceivable!" 10 out of 10!”

β€œFun and different experience, but some details to improve - Visited Rooftop Cinema Uptown twice now and overall it’s a really fun and different experience. The venue is super cute, the vibe is great, the view of city is amazing, the seats are comfortable, parking is convenient, there are tables near seats for your snacks, the hot dog (bagged) was good and the (bagged) popcorn is surprisingly tasty. The headphones sounded perfect during show, and also it’s easy follow the movie if you go to the restrooms or to the snack bar. However, at night some of the headphones we got had the faux leather on the ear pads peeling, which made them a bit itchy and uncomfortable. Additionally, there are a few things they could improve. When it’s sunny, they only sell umbrellas (around $9), not rent them. When it’s cold, it’s the same with blankets (about $15), so if you’re not prepared, you’ll be uncomfortable. I also paid for a kids’ seat and never found it, so my daughter ended up sharing our seat. The snack bar menu and drink options are pretty limited; there is no Coke Zero, all the food was pre-packaged, with nothing freshly prepared or truly fresh options available but is tasty and the headphones’ headband doesn’t adjust very well, so after a while, it can hurt your ears. I still recommend going because the concept and atmosphere are great, but it would be nice if they offered rentals for umbrellas/blankets, improved the snack options, and made sure special items like kids’ seats are actually available or easy to find. Note: I forgot to take more photos at night, but believe me, it was really beautiful.”
