1 / 3Rosemead Park
π Rosemead, CA
Large community park with toddler and older-kid playgrounds, a skate park, swimming pool, basketball courts, BBQ picnic areas, and lit walking paths. Free entry and parking. Gets crowded after school hours.
Skate Park is cool. Too many people be at this park though. Definitely be ready to share the space. Too many people on the basketball courts at times too. Depending on where you park your car, it can be a hassle finding a spot to begin with. It's clean. The restroom is clean but had no toilet paper! Plus, restrooms are locked around 8pm. After that good luck if you have to pee. The high school is right there too. its literally right nextdoor. So, around the time the school lets out is when traffic seems to pile sky high, plus all the kids crossing the streets and walking on the sidewalks, got to pay attention bcuz sometimes kids be walking and talking and running without thinking much of it, just got to be extra aware of your surroundings. The built-in walking trail Always has 1,000,000 people using it. People walking theirs pets too and people with strollers or wagons be on there too.but, It's a huge park, with a soccer field and a baseball field, a skate Park and swimming pool. 3 jungle gyms for the kids to enjoy, two or the 3 playgrounds have sand, yes sand! I don't like the sand, my kids toss it up in the air by the fistfuls and also at each other! I limit our visits to this park bcuz of the sand. The ice cream truck is usually parked somewhere nearby which is sweet.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids spanning a wide age range β toddlers have dedicated playground equipment, older kids gravitate to the skate park and basketball courts, and teens find enough space and activity to stay engaged. Arrive before the afternoon school rush for the best parking and court access. Bring your own toilet paper as a precaution.

ββββββ Rosemead Park truly has everything a family could need. From the moment you arrive, youβre surrounded by rich greenery and beautiful scenery that instantly feels calming and restorative. One of the best parts is that itβs connected to the Rosemead Recreation Center, which includes a swimming pool and a skate park β such an amazing bonus for kids and teens. There are multiple playground areas, plenty of barbecue and picnic spaces, and so much room to spread out and enjoy the day. The huge open field is incredibly healing. Whether you want to play kickball, run freely, or just sit and meditate, thereβs space to do it. They also have a great basketball court, which adds even more variety for families. Another detail that really stood out: the bathrooms are stocked with soap and warm water. That level of care matters. With the high school right next door, it truly feels like a central, safe, community-centered space. Five stars all the way β this park is a gem for families.β

βGreat neighborhood/town park. Good use of tax payer funds to support a great community space with everything from a playground for kids, walking/jogging path, pool, picnic areas with grills, etc. well maintained with a diversity of well chosen planted trees--not native but interesting and tasteful.β

βThe place is well lit at night. There is one problem though many people are walking with their dogs and from time to time they do not pick up their dog poop. It would be a great idea to have a small area designated for dogs and enforce no dogs on the walk path.β

Overview
Rosemead Park packs a skate park, community pool, multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, walking and jogging paths, and grilled picnic areas into a well-lit 12-plus-acre site. The Recreation Center is attached and includes the pool. Parking is free and on-site. Peak crowding hits after school hours and on weekends; early morning visits are noticeably calmer. Restrooms are generally clean and may run short on supplies.
