Best for active families with kids old enough to ride bikes or jog independently. The 7+ mile loop rewards families who bring their own bikes and plan a full morning out. Toddlers in bike seats or strollers work well on the paved sections. Morning visits beat the afternoon rush on the shared path.

βReally nice path for early-morning walks or cycling. Unfortunately though, Iβd only recommend visiting earlier in the day if you plan on cycling, as there are entitled people who block the majority of the path walking their 5 dogs, letting them span the entire perimeter of the path. Itβs concerning for the animals and other dwellers of the path, people need to be more spatially conscious, as it is called a βmulti-useβ path.β

βThat is a nice a trial area for running, jogging, biking and walking. Enough by distance and quality of lanes and bridges along Saddle River. I was so excited and spent three consecutive mornings on the trail with 7.2 miles round run. Thank you!!!β

Overview
Saddle River County Park stretches across several Bergen County towns with over 7 miles of paved multi-use trails along the Saddle River. Well-maintained bridges connect sections, and the lanes are wide enough for cyclists, joggers, and walkers side by side. Early mornings offer the most peaceful conditions. Autumn is peak season for scenery along the riverbanks.
