1 / 2Salt Pump Climbing Company
π Scarborough, ME
Salt Pump Scarborough offers top rope, lead climbing, bouldering, and multiple auto belays in one facility. Welcoming to complete beginners, including young children new to the sport.
Great gym! Friendly Staff! Connor (Sorry if I spelled it wrong) gave me beta for a local crag, Evan was super friendly, and Will told me where to get some great affordable lobster! The setting of the boulders was fun and challenging. Constructive criticism: the kilterboard has had a lot of love and the holds should be rewashed or thoroughly brushed.
π Family Action Verdict
Auto belays make Salt Pump accessible for kids visiting without an experienced climbing partner. Staff are noted as especially patient with first-timers and young children. Families with kids aged 6 and up can find routes appropriate for new climbers, and the encouraging floor culture keeps nervous beginners comfortable.
