1 / 3Seaside Wildlife Nature Park
π Staten Island, NY
Coastal nature park on Staten Island combining a salt marsh boardwalk, nautical-themed Pirate Park playground, gated toddler play area, splash zone with sand, and wildlife viewing along Great Kills harbor. Bathrooms are under construction.
Seaside Wildlife Nature Park may be on the smaller side, but itβs a peaceful little escape from the busy streets of Staten Island. Itβs a great spot to take your dog for a walk and get some fresh air, and thereβs also a small playground area for kids to enjoy. Theyβre currently building new bathrooms, which will be a nice upgrade. One of my favorite parts of the park is the small wooden bridge that goes over the marsh β itβs a quiet, scenic spot that makes you feel tucked away from the city. In the summertime, if you look closely near the rocks, you can sometimes spot snakes and salamanders, which is a cool bonus for nature lovers. Overall, itβs a cozy, underrated park perfect for a calm afternoon outdoors.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who enjoy outdoor exploration, nature watching, and imaginative play in a coastal setting. The gated toddler area and sand-based splash zone make it genuinely suitable for young children. The harbor water is unfenced and immediately adjacent to play areas β active supervision is required.

βThis is an amazing little park. It has swings, two big sized play areas and for the little ones a gated play area as well. It also has a really nice splash zone. One of the water splash zones has sand in it so its simulating like you are at the beach. Also there is a little beach area but it is a little difficult to get down to there but so worth it.β

βLovely park, restrooms being built on the site. Has an adjunct small boardwalk through a salt marsh. Additionally, a nautically themed playground locals call Pirate Park is adjacent to the large field and walking loop of the main park. Many people bring dogs to walk in this park. There are a lot of dog poop smears marking the walking loop, it's residue left after owners pick up their dog's poop. There is a lovely view of the water here by Great Kills harbor. There are swans that visit by the water near to Pirate Park.β
