1 / 2Sender One Climbing & Sender City - Los Angeles
📍 Westchester, CA
Large indoor climbing gym near LAX with 60-foot rope walls, expansive bouldering terrain, and Sender City — a dedicated colorful climbing area for kids and families. Also includes yoga studio, fitness training, and youth programs.
Alrighty, I’ve been here 5+ years, so I think that’s enough of time for a review. Community and people running the gym are amazing. From bouldering league to the meetups to the random couches that appeared this week, I can officially and still somewhat biasedly say this gym is top tier! Luke, Marisa, Seth, Scott, so many others I know by face (I’m sorry I’m bad with names) have all been so gracious with returning my lost phone, purse, shoes, even climbing bag, you name it over the years that I know I walk in sheepishly and they’re like “what did you lose” and help me go find it or look for it at the lost and found. It’s a great place for kids and people to learn about rock climbing. Thanks Sender One! Thanks for still allowing meetups like Ladies Climbing Coalition *shameless plug.* My few asks would be to get a coffee bar (I know tall ask with space) and more night climbing events, which are a fun way to introduce this activity to non climbers.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who want a dedicated kids climbing space within a full-scale gym, and for parents who climb and want everyone active in one place. Staff accommodate first-time visitors and travellers with exceptional flexibility.

“We came across this climbing gym as we were passing through LA on an roadtrip and looking to get our kids out of the car for an hour to play and burn some energy. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We came by fairly late (6:15ish) and the kids area was going to close soon, but they went ahead and let us get a quick session in before closing it up. They knew we were just passing through that evening and wanted to make sure they got to experience sender city. Note to self for next time, come in earlier! The front desk and staff member hosting the kids area were awesome. We will definitely be coming back.”

“Wow! What a climbing gym, huge lead climbing area and great selection of boulders - plus some really fun walls for the kids. Was visiting LA from the UK for 36hrs and managed to squeeze a short session in - massive shout out to Evan who made me feel so welcome!”

“Luke is an incredible intro to climbing instructor. The facility is like Spy Kids for adults. We spent almost four hours there in one session. Also has saunas and fitness classes.”
