Take a look at these reviews. Can you find a single negative one? I donβt see one. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with a 5-star rating across the board. This is the kind of thing you want to see when youβre blindly searching for a place that offers horseback riding, but youβre not sure what kind of experience youβll ultimately have. So, we picked Shyanchee Stables blindly based on Google reviews and came away with an overwhelmingly positive riding experience. I called in advance and made reservations with the owner, Dave, who was extremely friendly as well as patient, as we had to do some last-minute rescheduling where he effortlessly moved us to another time slot on a different day. The day of our ride, Hurricane Erin was causing rainy conditions in the area. Dave called in the morning to find out if we still wanted to ride, and we both came to the conclusion that it would probably clear up in the afternoon, which it did. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Riley, a wonderful young lady who grooms the horses. She was to be our guide for our ride, and she allowed us to walk through the stable and get to know several of the horses inside. It was a great experience to get up close to these beautiful animals and pet them. Walking around the grounds were a few cats that were very friendly and in want of attention. I will say that the horses looked well kept. You can tell that a lot of love and pride has gone into maintaining these animals. This is a quality stable and its owner, Dave, who was very welcoming to us, should be proud. Our ride lasted a little over an hour, as we walked along a park trail adjacent to the stable. We received very short instruction on how to control the horse during the ride and I was amazed how easy it was to steer my horse, Diablo, when I needed to. The horses are very well behaved and within our riding group, followed each other without any missteps. Riley did an excellent job assisting all of us during our mount and dismount (I got a bit stuck getting off the horse). Her pre-ride instructions were clear and she made certain the riders were kept safe and together during the trek. Riley was also happy to take photos of us on our horses after the ride. I can see why this place gets the raves it does. Dave and Riley were class acts. They made you feel welcome. They were personable. They answered questions. They made you feel safe. The horses are beautiful, well-kept and a pleasure to ride. These are the things that anyone looking for a horseback ride establishment should be mindful of. I look forward to returning here for another ride at some point.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families new to horseback riding who want a personal, low-pressure introduction. Dave and his team build confidence before anyone mounts, making nervous riders feel secure from the start. Teens who have never ridden manage the trails comfortably.

βMy best friend and I went on a spur of the moment (no pun intended) trip on our mini vacation, and since both of us are avid horseback riders, we HAD to make a pit stop. We are so glad we did, the staff was WONDERFUL, we very much enjoyed chatting with our guide, Donna, and owner Dave. The horses were all obviously loved and cared for, and they were so well behaved, even with a surprise encounter with some ATV riders that were not supposed to be on the trail. Our guide was knowledgeable about the area and gave us other recommendations as well, which we are looking forward to checking out. If we are back in the area, we will definitely be back. Also, on a side note, I LOVED the fact that this is a smaller, more personal trail ride. I have been out in rides that are 20+ people, and it can be a bummer when you have other people on the ride who arent experienced or may be more nervous, and its hard on a large ride to make it feel personal. Donna made sure to check in with everyone at various points of the ride and was happy to answer questions and such. Thank you all for a great vacation, we hope yo see you all in our neck of the woods someday!β

βWe had such a wonderful experience! Dave the owner was super pleasant. We called to make reservations a few days in advance and he was so accommodating! I love that this is a local family business who loves what they do. The horses were so calm and sweet and very well loved. We were all amateur riders and felt completely comfortable. We had an hour long guided ride through beautiful forest and got some great pictures. We will be back!β
