Staten Island Children's Museum
📍 Staten Island, NY
Interactive museum featuring 12 indoor and outdoor exhibits, dance and art workshops, science demos, and birthday party spaces. Free parking and low admission make it exceptional value for families with children ages 1–10.
Updated 03/2025 Still an amazing place!!! Unreal that it is still 8$ admission 5 years later with free parking. We love the grounds around the museum as well. Super well kept and tons of place to run and play. Can’t wait for summer adventures this year Great place! Super clean, friendly staff, easy parking and not to crowded!! Also the price of 8$ is more than fair. The kids had a great time with lots to do and see. Great for a variety of ages. Also they had a little snack zone with reasonably priced snacks. Bathrooms were also very clean. We ended the day with a picnic in the field.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Strongest fit for families with children aged 2–10. The low admission price and free parking deliver rare value for New York. Toddlers access sensory and dramatic play exhibits independently; older kids engage with the craft floor and insects exhibit. Weekday visits are quieter and allow more hands-on time at each station.

“We visited on a cold November day with my daughter and her friends, and it was absolutely worth it. Every child can find something they love here — from sports activities to creative projects. The girls dressed up as actors and performed on stage, made crafts from cardboard boxes, built little houses out of soft blocks, explored the “jungle,” and even put out a pretend fire. A wonderful place for families. Definitely worth a visit! 👍”

“Amazing place for kids where they can have fun and learn at the same time. Just recently attended their Halloween event and my kids loved it. I hope they do more of these.”

“Is a great place for small kids, has Interactive games, a huge chess game and many more. Nice AC inside and out door games for small kids too. A small cafeteria with vending machines, a floor dedicated to arts and craft and insects. Really clean and the staff were pretty nice. Elevators for people with strollers or wheelchairs.”
