Stearns Park Playground
π Artcraft Manor, CA
Stearns Park offers two playground areas with old-school monkey bars, slide-down poles, and traditional swings alongside basketball courts and open grass for soccer. Free entry with accessible swings available.
Came here with my 6 year old and she had a blast. The playgrounds (2) are great with some older-style bars and slide-down poles that you donβt see at newer playgrounds anymore. There are regular swings and accessible swings and plenty of grass to run around on. It was clean and well-kept. The parking lot is a good size too.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age kids who want classic playground structures and multi-sport space unavailable at newer facilities. Families with toddlers should inspect sand areas for ant activity before letting children play. Bring hand sanitiser and check the ground before sitting or playing β maintenance is inconsistent.

βStearns is nice, but needs a total playground renovation! The playground is still made up of sand. I also noticed several Red ant colonies on the sand playground. Be careful with little ones.β

Overview
Stearns Park runs two separate play areas with equipment styles rarely found at newer parks β slide-down poles, monkey bars, and classic swings including accessible options. Open grass accommodates soccer and free play. Basketball courts adjoin the playground. Reviewers note ongoing issues with dog waste on paths and red ant colonies in sand areas; restrooms require vigilance.
