1 / 2Stepping Stones Museum for Children
π Norwalk, NY
Interactive children's museum in Norwalk with hands-on exhibits, water play areas, dinosaur displays, and dramatic play zones. Especially great for toddlers and kids 6 and under.
Recently became a member of the ASTC Travel Passport Program. This was the third museum my 4yo and I visited. This is the best museum so far. We were here for just over 4 hours before I ruined my daughter's day by telling her it was time to leave. They even have a small cafeteria for lunch/snack time. Sadly they ran out of coffee when I was in need. We will be returning. Bring extra clothes for the kids in case they have a little to much fun with the water play.
π Family Action Verdict
This museum is excellent for families with toddlers and children 6 and under, offering engaging hands-on activities including water play, dinosaur exhibits, and dramatic play areas. Most parents find it exceptionally well-maintained and worth extended visits of 4+ hours. However, be aware of potential cleanliness issues in water play areas and consider bringing extra clothes for messy play.

βItβs easily one of the best childrenβs museums, especially for toddlers and slightly older. They have a wide array of activities, including the fake bus of course, and a cool fake shopping area. Iβve never seen such a clean and well maintained childrenβs museum. The staff is constantly putting things back - theyβre like waiters at a high end restaurant. Go.β

βItβs a great museum with lots of fun, hands-on activities for kids. Itβs especially worth visiting for children 6 and under, as they can really enjoy everything. There are areas for dramatic play, storytelling, dinosaur-themed activities, water play, and a dining area. They also offer discounted admission for EBT card holders.β

βSmall museum but good β tons for kids to do there. The dinosaur section is probably the most popular along with the water play. Didnβt like that the water was still a thing in the dead of winter (but itβs fine) They also have different sessions (puppet shows and others) those are great. It could be a challenge to have the kids sit in one place but we managed. Interactive wall was also a huge hit with the kids. Will want to go back in the summer to see what they have to offer. Overall great day with the kiddos at stepping stoneβ
