1 / 2Stoneview Nature Center
π Blair Hills, CA
A community-run nature center featuring California drought-tolerant gardens, a small quail enclosure, a rock labyrinth, and trail access connecting to Kenneth Hahn State Park for approximately two hours of hiking.
This review is for the hike trail that connects the stone view nature center to the Kenneth hanh state park. Our scouts did a hike here and it was amazing. It was a bit challenging for younger ones but anyone grade 4 and above would have no issues. From the nature center, follow the path, cross the bridge, get to the Japanese garden. When you get there turn left and follow the red entrance sign to continue on the trail. When you come across another split, turn left to keep going. You are at the right place when you come across a dried up waterfall or water fountain looking area. Continue up hill until you reach your first Pagoda with amazing views to your left (Hollywood sign) and views to your right. Continue pass that part to get to 2 sticks built tent or teepee. That was the end of our hike before we rounded back. This was a good ppace for snack break with plenty of shades. All this took roughly 2 hours round trip. Kiddos loved it and lots to see along the path.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with children grade 4 and up who are comfortable on a moderate trail. Younger kids may find the incline and distance tiring.

βI saw a bird at the lake in Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area this morning (October 29). A fishing line was tightly wrapped around its right leg, almost cutting it off, and had started to tangle around the other leg too. I told the lady at the front desk of Stoneview Nature Center, and she responded so kindly and quickly. I truly appreciate her warm care and hope the bird can recover soon. The staff at Stoneview Nature Center are always welcoming and gentle. Itβs one of my favorite places β full of kindness and peace. ποΈπΏβ

βNice little community garden, easy parking maybe 20 spaces... The trail serves as a Midway point between Kenneth Hahn and the top of the Culver City stairs... Definitely a hidden gem. Go left if you want to go to Kenneth Hahn's, right to the Stairs. Slight incline (compared to treadmill 5-6) to the stairs wear decent shoes, not difficult.β

βJust discovered this place, although it's been open for 8 years already. Beautiful and quiet nature center with California drought tolerant flora. They have a little quail cage too that houses six adorable female quails they call divas. There's also a labyrinth marked by rocks that fun to walk through.β
