1 / 2Teaneck Community Pool
π Teaneck, NY
Community pool club offering good space and amenities for all ages with toddler-friendly areas and plenty of shade. However, aging facilities and management issues may impact your visit.
A lovely, safe, fun and friendly club to spend each summer vacation. We've been members for eight years now, and we've loved what it has to offer every summer, as our children grow. As another reviewer said: it's great for young and old alike, because it's a large place, with lots of trees that give shade, and lots to do.
π Family Action Verdict
This pool club offers good space and facilities for families with children of all ages, with plenty of shade and room to spread out. However, persistent issues with rude staff, inconsistent management, and aging facilities that need renovation may impact your experience. Best suited for families prioritizing space over premium amenities and service.

βGood security and lifeguards. The "manager" is a real jerk and speaks to the lifeguards and other staff incredibly rudely, disrespectfully, and nasty. I was absolutely shocked at how nasty he is. He should be fired. He asked a lifeguard if he was an idiot, stupid, or just dumb. That's totally unacceptable behavior and demoralizing to the young people in charge of our safety. Besides him, the place is well-kept, the pools are beautiful, the lockers and bathrooms totally adequate and other services fine. Parking also good. Nice afternoon experience except for this one manager creep. If not for him, I'd give 5 βββββ but he was that much of a jerk that I give only 4.β

βBeen going here for the last few years as members. The swim club is a great place for all ages to come and enjoy its amenities. That being said the club can definitely use renovating and more frequent maintenance of the pools and grounds. The lifeguards really try to make the pool a good time but I find sometimes they are extremely strict on the rules that are not as necessaryβ¦ touching the rope in the pool for example can get you kicked out of the pool. My sister got hurt with her goggles and started crying and one of the lifeguards came over and made the situation extremely uncomfortableβ¦ The staff is definitelyβ¦ interesting. Sometimes extremely rude other times kind, depends on who you get that day. They only except checks for any payment type and the snack bar barely exists. Guest passes are extremely complicated to get and use as well. In the end of the day, this is our last year and while the swim club provided the fun activity of the summer I wouldnβt recommend it to everyone.β

βWe became a member for the first time this summer but never took advantage of it because my 7 year old was in summer camp for most of the time. However, I thought this weekend was a good day to try it since itβs the last weekend the pool would be open and we had no plans. My mother became a member and added me and my daughter as members too. Unfortunately, my mother went on vacation and with that took membership cards. So with that in mind, I went to the pool facility yesterday (the day before I planned to use the pool) to make sure everything was in order and that I was in the system. I told the gentleman at the front desk my situation and after looking up my name on the laptop he confirmed that I was indeed in the system and that it showed I was member. I then asked if it was ok for me to bring guests. He said that would not be a problem but max amount is five. So I went ahead and invited two close friends from different towns to enjoy a last day at the pool before school started. The girls were so excited. When I got to the front desk today, however, there was a different person working there. He was young, maybe high school or early college age. I already felt some weird vibes but I approached and told him my situation. He looked up my name and said he sees me in the system but it shows that Iβm not a member. I again explained that I was told it would not be a problem for me to use facilities. At this time another lady approached and said itβs ok we will write your name down and figure it out βbut you can go inβ. Then I said Iβm expecting 5 guests to arrive to which they say I have no guest passes and the main center is closed. In the midst of all this some children were excitedly running towards the pool dnd the young man working the desk yelled at them in a nasty angry way to stop running. I couldβve made a big stink and probably wouldβve gotten in with my guests but was so turned off by the workers that I just turned around and left. Mind you I had a whole wagon of prepared bags and snacks. I was in a bathing suit myself. We ended up going to the splash park and had the best day. I hope next year they get their shit together and have a more personable staff, and even better system in place. However, this whole experience left such a bad after taste that I will not be renewing my membership. Even my daughter said, βI never want to go back to that placeβ.β
