1 / 2The Bucks County Children's Museum - Advance Ticketing Recommended
📍 New Hope, NY
Interactive children's museum in New Hope with colonial ovens, treehouse room, musical play areas, and historical hands-on exhibits. Advance tickets are mandatory — the museum sells out daily. Free diapers and wipes on site.
We used our library's museum pass and I loved that I could still order tickets in advance with that deal! The museum was sold out for the day when arrived before opening, so definitely get your tickets ahead! We booked for the early slot on a Friday with no school, so it was quiet for the first 20-30 minutes, but it was certainly quite busy when we left. This was our first visit, so I don't know what the renovation included, but this was a beautiful space with varied activities and fun themes. Definitely recommend for walkers, as I didn't notice an area designed for babies. My two year old was very taken by the musical area, the car engines, the store, and the colonial ovens. I also enjoyed the ovens and adjoining inn to reference the history of New Hope and Washington's Crossing. I was also impressed with the seating availability around the space. There were some spaces for adults to sit in each larger area, which can benefit people visiting with larger groups or those with mobility struggles. We were visiting with my son, then my brother and my parents, so they got to take turns sitting down while I ran after my child! Highly recommend a visit. Price is absolutely fair, even including parking fee.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with walking toddlers and preschoolers aged 2–5. The colonial kitchen and treehouse room consistently earn the most enthusiasm from young visitors. Early time slots on weekdays deliver the most relaxed experience. Advance booking is non-negotiable — the museum was sold out before opening on a Friday with no school in session.

“Took our 3 year old to Bucks County Children's Museum for the second time and she had a blast! She'd been there before with just Dad and could remember it being a little different inside now that there's been a remodel. She loved the treehouse room with "the pokey things" (which Mom and Dad call Hans Solo trapped in Carbonite) where we could make messages and put our handprints through the wall. We were there for a while! Also loved the hidden George Washington Calico Critters under the treehouse. As a parent who gets really itchy and bored with pretend play, I appreciated the treehouse room, the wind room, and the water area. It felt more like learning play or interactive play. There was a big supermarket, 1776 theme tables, a doctor area, even a little gas pump (which this Jersey girl had no idea how to work, amirite) and an area to learn to work on cars. There's really something for everyone in there. We had a blast and will definitely be back! We booked ahead for the Sunday of a holiday weekend. I think we booked Wednesday? By Friday/Saturday the entire weekend was sold out. Parking was about $10 for 3.5 hours and there is at least one kid friendly restaurant a short walk from the museum.”

“My 2 year old had a great time at his first visit. It didn't feel very crowded despite it being sold out for the day. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. I appreciated all the sanitizer and wipes stations. I think the $9 admission was well worth the price. Parking was also easy and reasonably priced with the app I already had.”

“Beautiful place! My kids loved it, and so did I. I even forgot the diapers in my car, but what a surprise: they had free wipes and diapers under the baby changing table. Everything was clean and everyone was kind. The snack area is big, and you can bring your own food too. We’re excited to come back soon!”
