I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Franklin Art Museum in Philadelphia, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The museum itself boasts an impressive collection of artwork that truly showcased the rich cultural history and artistic talent. But what made the visit even more memorable was the incredible food offered on-site. The options were diverse, delicious, and beautifully prepared—providing a perfect complement to the cultural exploration. One of the main highlights of my visit was the combustion show. It was an electrifying performance that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The show was full of energy, skill, and precision, making it one of the most exciting displays I’ve seen. The performer, a talented young woman, was absolutely fantastic. She demonstrated great confidence and mastery, captivating everyone in the audience with her performance. Her presence and talent truly elevated the entire experience. Overall, I had a wonderful time at the Franklin Art Museum. From the stunning art collections and delectable food to the thrilling combustion show and the talented performer, everything came together to create a truly memorable day. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone looking for a blend of culture, entertainment, and good food. I’m already looking forward to coming back

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 4–12 who engage with science topics across multiple disciplines. The Giant Heart, sports section, and live dissection are the most memorable stops. Toddlers find sparse touch-friendly exhibits here — save this one for kids who can read exhibit text and engage independently.

Super exciting and cool place for all ages. I had a fantastic time wandering around. The building is very large so things are quite spaced out inside. The installations have lots of details from floor to ceiling. The ticket prices feel expensive, but if you go to all the different exhibits, you are seeing 10 or so different areas. I would totally go again!

Had a great friends-family day at the Institute. Lots of learning experience and things to do for the kids as well as adults. I don't recommend it for toddlers but there were a couple of "touch me" experiences. The added Universal Studios package wasn't worth its price per se but the kids liked the characters more so than the learning aspect of it.

We took our 4 kids (ages 4-12) to visit the Institute and they had an absolute blast! There was someone for each of them to enjoy and keep them engaged. They especially loved the Legos, walking through the human heart and sports section. The dissection was also a fun unexpected lesson. Definitely worth the drive to get there!

Overview

The Franklin Institute covers science across three large floors — standouts include the Giant Heart walk-through, a dissection demonstration, Lego builds, sports science, and the Fels Planetarium. Sir Isaac's Loft and scheduled theater demonstrations deliver the most interactive moments. A current Universal Theme Parks special exhibition adds authentic costumes and props. The building is large with exhibits spread across substantial floor space.
