1 / 2The Pirate Park
π North Arroyo, CA
Free pirate-themed playground behind the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, featuring climbing frames, swings, spinning elements, music play, a sandbox area, and shaded picnic tables. Park in Lot I to access.
Neat little park nestled on the hill behind the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. The creative designs of the park playground equipment appeals to kids and their folks! Thereβs also picnic tables, public restrooms and close access to cool grown ups walkways, rustic landscape and nature trails! Those who visit here may also be visitors at the pool, which shares the same parking lot The park has nice shade trees that are great shelter for warm days, tho when nippy, Iβd have to say shiver me timbers!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children under 8 who want a free, creative outdoor playground without crowds. The soft ground surface is safe for toddlers taking tumbles, and the shade coverage makes warm days manageable. The hidden location means it stays quieter than high-profile playgrounds.

βWe were passing through this city and the child really wanted to play on the playground. I am very glad that we found such a cool playground with a sea pirate theme. Lots of different amenities: swings, slides, climbing frames. It is located on the territory of a large park and you can easily find a recreation area with tables and a toilet. There is also a shop-cafe in the building near the pool.β

βTook my 3.5 year old to south Cal and this park is a nice surprise. The ground is soft so kiddo can run around with so many opportunities for games (including music, direction, spinning climbing, and treasure hunting)! Equipments are sufficient for plenty of children to share. If I were to visit this city again, this defiantly will be my go-to.β

βFun park for kids with nice rest areas for parents. Plenty of great pirate themed playground equipment in addition to swings and sand pit. Plenty of park benches with shade give a nice reprieve from a sunny day. Near by restrooms are what you expect from a public park. You can even take a nice short nature walk that's right next to the park.β

Overview
The Pirate Park sits on a hill behind the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center and is only accessible via Lot I β park there and walk to the playground. Equipment runs a pirate theme throughout: ship-style climbing structures, swings, spinning elements, musical features, and a treasure-hunt-style layout on soft ground surfaces. A small sandbox area suits younger children. Shaded picnic tables and public restrooms are on-site.
