“Used to go to PV ice rink/la kings. This place is so much better! As an older adult figure skater- love the chairs- like cafe seating. Need a back to my chair. Next- the staff. They r so proud of their instructors they frame their faces and names. The director of skating programs - JACKIE- greets u before your class starts! The owners R family. Husband & wife r working at the rink with their kids and siblings & inlaws! Update: May 2025 new management took over. Great bunch of mainly all men. And SAM’s SNACK COUNTER IS OPEN! Hot CoCo and The BEST NE Clam Chowder! And ROGER- safety skating guard is ON THE ICE Saturday nights assisting fallen skaters or calming rowdy skaters. Unlike the chaos at PV rink. No safety ever! PV only had a few great coaches but Skating Edge has many. I get substitutes at times- all great. The large rink is great- the ice never gets all chunked up no matter the crowd. And they clean the ice before classes. After classes. U always have clean ice! And they have show recitals every few months- so u can show off all u learned in classes! $225for 10 classes Learn To Skate members. Free public skate times if u take classes. Lydia teaches Wed evening exercise classes! 15-$18 for drop in practice FREESTYLE & ICE DANCING Much better than public skate - all focus is on stroking or skills. Not evading crashes w hockey or beginners. Music is great too. PV ice actually had SILENCE during public skate!!! August 2025 SAM opened up snack bar inside rink. Best food and prices! Thrifty ice cream shakes! Tater tots!!! The best New England clam chowder! Healthy chicken salad. Protein bowls. Fresh lattes and hot coco! Pro shop and blade sharpening inside too!”

“My son and I came here for a birthday party and had the wonderful time! The rink is huge and not overcrowded like the rink in PV. The prices and rental skates are also better, and the snack bar is great! We started coming back for skate lessons and are having THE BEST time! The instructors are fantastic—positive and encouraging in the best way. It’s a great welcoming community, and we look forward to coming here every week!”

He really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. All the staff at the skate rentals were really nice as well. We will definitely be back for more skating!”

“The skating rink has improved a lot since new management took over. Good ice and friendly and helpful staff make the visit enjoyable. Hockey is also a contributing factor to the experience. Skating Edge is home to the Bay Harbor Red Wings, hosts LMU ice hockey, and the Ice Angeles hockey league. Keep your stick on the ice! 🏒”
