What an awesome town ice rink! Friendly staff, and good rental skates. Took our kids there for their first time on the ice and they loved it. The walkers of course play a huge part in aiding them on the super slick surface. I may have caught one trying to eat it like shaved ice (sigh.) For $5 it included skates vs $20+ at American Dream down the road. What if the kids didn’t like it? This was a safe bet. What’s more was we got treated to the opening minutes of a hockey game that immediately followed the obligatory Zamboni watching ⛸️

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

This is an excellent budget option for families wanting to try ice skating without breaking the bank, especially for young children and beginners. However, be prepared for potentially very long waits in cold weather and the possibility that popular skate sizes may be unavailable. Best suited for patient families who prioritize affordability over convenience.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Arrive early as it's first-come-first-serve for skate rentals
⏰Expect to wait outside in cold weather for up to 2 hours during busy times
🎟️Popular skate sizes (5-12) often sell out, so have backup plans
πŸš—At $5 including skates, it's much cheaper than nearby alternatives like American Dream ($20+)

β€œI’m not a professional ice skater by any means, but this was my first time ice skating here. I called in advanced and i was told its first come first serve for the skates so I made sure to get there a little before the time they opened. The workers are so nice and they have many ice guards or staff in the rink that help you when you fall or teach you how to skate. I was shock by how cheap it was to skate here and how much fun I had skating!!! 100% worth it for the 2 hours. I will be back”

β€œVery bad! Me and 3 of my other friends waited in line for almost 2 hours in the freezing cold, and there was a long long line that had little kids & family’s getting very sick and falling on ice on the line. They wouldn’t let anyone in the building just to warm down, and they wouldn’t let an elderly woman use the bathroom, or the kids, and 3 staff standing by the door blocking people from entering were laughing at the people in line complaining and arguing about waiting, and they expected the people who got there at 3pm to wait until 7:30 to start skating again in the freezing cold! Line was too long that lots of families and kids had left after waiting for so long. Lots of disappointment from the little kids and families, and it’s like the staff didn’t even care. I know it’s cheep but it’s not worth the damn wait.”

β€œBad. Waited a hour to get in and guess what? When we paid to go in they didn't have our size. We tried to get a refund because we had 3 children and it wouldn't be very fair for them. But they said no we tried again and no. So, we waited a bit to see if anyone was leaving to get at least a pair of skates but we saw two girls with the sizes my Children needed so we went to go ask for them. When we asked, they said they didn't have the size we wanted that was the exact size our children needed. We argued but no. This place is horrible not worth it and bad staff.”
