Tujunga Ponds Wildlife Sanctuary
đ Sunland, CA
A free outdoor wildlife sanctuary featuring pond trails and natural scenery, though families should be aware of ongoing cleanup efforts and variable conditions.
I remember coming here as a teenager and partying with my friends here but it's gone downhil! it needs to be cleaned up! There's a lot of homeless people here so it makes the kind of sketchy being down here . This has to be so much more beautiful hair call Cookie one of my favorite places. I would love to be contacted to help clean this up
đ Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families comfortable with urban nature settings who can overlook maintenance issues. The wildlife viewing and trails offer educational value, but parents should be aware of safety concerns due to homeless encampments. Consider visiting during daytime hours and be prepared for a somewhat rough-around-the-edges experience.

âTrails need improvement and a bit of freeway noise, but saw some wildlife and had a nice walk.â

âNice calm place with a party running around a small pond. Only complaint is the homeless bathing/drinking/living ect. The cleanup is coming along nicely. The construction crew is polite, always stopping when horses go by so they don't spook them, and never swearing.â
