Wilson's Woods Swimming Pool
π North Side, NY
Mount Vernon's popular swimming complex with wave pool, water slides, and kiddie area. Great for water-loving kids but gets very crowded with limited shade.
Iβve been going here since I was a kid. Went back recently after a couple of years and they got some nice upgrades. Bathrooms, showers and changing stalls are clean. Pool was perfect and lots of space to lay down and relax. Food is decent but pricey
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids who love water slides and wave pools, but prepare for crowds and competition for shade spots. Works well for tweens/teens who can handle the rowdy atmosphere, but parents with small children should expect bumping and splashing from older kids. Arrive very early to secure good spots.

βThis pool is great. Free parking lot, concessions, and a locker room. The lifeguards are very vigilant, and they certainly have their work cut out for them because it gets pretty crowded. The waves are super strong, but it has periods where it stops. The slides are great but just fyi the kids have to be 46β tall to use it. Not much shade in the main area, but towards the back where the slides are there is a lot of shade. You can bring your own food, but only empty water bottles with ice. The kids area is nice for little ones to get a break from the waves. Not a reflection on the facility itself but the crowd can be a little rowdy because there are a lot of tweens and teens. Expect to be splashed and bumped into because a lot of the kids arenβt aware of their surroundings. Another downside is kids canβt wear a mask that covers their eyes and nose.β

βIβve grown up through the years of itβs renovations. We decided to attend and check out it out. We arrive at 10:30 and there were people already lined up ready for spots. I advise you get here really early to get a spot with shade and sun. When we got in, we sat under the tent pictured. It provided nice shade and we still had a section for sunbathing. Thereβs only two of these style tents available so there is race to get one. The crowd her is much better than Saxon Woods. It feels a little more elevated than Saxon Woods shockingly. There is a concession stand with shaded picnic tables to eat. There are two water slides behind the pool. There is a water playground for kids, too! The waves happen every like 15 mins. Their parking lot is very small though so keep that in mind. Honestly, I would recommend!!!β
