1 / 3World's Fair Playground
π Queens, NY
Well-maintained playground within Flushing Meadows Park featuring toddler and older-kid swings, monkey bars, slides, water sprinklers, gymnastics bars, a basketball court, handball court, tennis court, and a track.
Great playground for neighborhood kids. This Worldβs Fair Playground offers swings for both toddlers and older children, monkey bars, slides & water sprinklers. For teens & adults a gymnastics bar, body lifting bars, sit up bench, basketball court, handball court, tennis court, and a brand new track field with a section for volleyball (bring your own net). The new track field is a favorite amongst people of all ages who need to get out, stretch their legs and walk a couple of laps every day. Sometimes youβll find people rollerblading here or younger kids riding their bikes here on the tracks. There are some shaded areas for bench seatings and water fountains for refilling water bottles. Bathrooms are available for men and four women but tends to close around 5 PM. This Playground is well kept. There is also a ramp near the track field that crosses the Grand Central Highway to Flushing Meadows Corona Park. However, the ramp is currently closed due to construction. There is another ramp that goes across Grand Central Parkway into Flushing Meadows Corona Park. It is near the Under Bridge Dog Run on 64th Ave. and Grand Central Parkway local road.
π Family Action Verdict
One of Queens' most comprehensive free playgrounds β the sheer range of equipment means every member of the family has something to use, from toddler swings through adult fitness stations. Best in spring and early summer when the sprinklers are running and mosquitoes are manageable.

βMy family and I have been to this place and that it was a nice sunny day and that there were many people there playing basketball, handball, and many other things. Also, there were birds like pigeons there looking for things to eat, and that people were sitting on the benches.β

βFlushing Meadows Park is a large park for those that may not know. Take a moment to read the history, size etc. It has many entrances. Worlds Fair Playground is in the park. Yesterday we wanted to see the birds and ducks at what appear its natural state. The birds seem to have found a portion of Flushing lake where they sit, fly, eat, pop etc. The sight itself looks a little unkept. Very muddy and much pop. but im guessing it's due to winter months. I did noticed construction crews working there so I am sure they are preparing things for the upcoming good weather. WORLDS FAIR PLAYGROUND usually looks nice in the warmer weather. Kids, families all come by. The culture mix is amazing . You really need to come early to find a good spot.bring your chairs, food etc. Great place for kids to run around. So my visit recently was just to walk around, survey the park and like I said, see the birds. I am not sure what will happen to the birds when the weather is better, I am hoping they leave because it will be uncomfortable having a picnic with Seagulls as they tend to get aggressive around food. Try your best TO COVER YOUR FOOD AND MORE IMPORTANTLY DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT FEED THEM or they will all come YOU and hang around you which is very annoying. I am hoping they clean up the area, especially near the lake coast line. Also hoping they do mosquito spray as there will definitely be issues there. So if you visit the area in the warmer months, be sure to pack mosquito repellant as well.β

Overview
World's Fair Playground sits inside the larger Flushing Meadows Park and spans a full range of age groups. Toddler swings and scaled play equipment anchor one end; monkey bars, slides, and water sprinklers serve elementary-age kids. Gymnastics bars, body-lifting equipment, a sit-up bench, basketball court, handball court, tennis court, and a new track serve teens and adults. Bathrooms close around dusk. The playground sits adjacent to the Grand Central Parkway β traffic noise is audible.
