1 / 3Anne Loftus Playground
π Manhattan, NY
A neighborhood playground featuring a central splash pad, climbing structures, and plenty of shade. Great for families with kids 3+ looking for water play and active outdoor fun.
We passed by this active and spacious playground during Summer Street. There was a band playing, so we stopped by and enjoyed a bit of their musicals before climbing the hill to the MET Cloisters. There are definitely quite a bit of stairs directly upwards - I imagine there's a sloped path nearby, but still quite a number of steps
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited for families with kids 3+ who want a shaded playground with water play features. The splash pad is a highlight, but expect some older equipment and typical NYC urban park atmosphere. Consider it a solid neighborhood option rather than a destination playground.

βGreatbspot for kids. However, pets aren't allowed (few people still get their pets). Bicycling isn't allowed either, but several kids do that.β

β"This is a pretty good playground, " said my 8 year old. It's nice and shady, with a splash pad in the center. Some of the play structures are pretty old. Trash is stored in open barrels, which gives the park a real New York City smell..β

βBeautiful park, but the playground wasnβt fixed in the recent βupgradeβ. They added the climbing frame, calisthenics gym , half a basketball court and sprinklers but how did that cost 4.5m!? This needs looking at.β
