📍 Old Tappan, NY
A 2.75-mile wooded loop trail in Old Tappan with flat terrain, well-marked paths, stream views, and hidden mountain bike tracks. Dog-friendly throughout. Free entry with very sparse parking — arrive early.
Awesome spot to walk. I bring my dog there. I wonder why someone covered the cool old cars with sticks??! Such a shame, they were really interesting, and gave the hike even more character. The stream runs along most of the trail. 10/10 dog friendly, low impact, nature walk.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for local families with dogs who want an easy, scenic nature walk on flat, well-marked trails. The 2.75-mile loop is manageable for children who can handle moderate distances on foot. Arrive early to secure one of the very sparse parking spots. The stocked trout stream adds interest for older kids.

“Nice walk through the woods that wasn't too crowded. Saw a few dog walkers and that was about it. Nice dirt mountain bike track hidden in the woods near the back loop. A full loop around the outside is about 2.75 miles. Worth it if you are local but I wouldn't go out of my way to take a trip here.”

“Trails are marked very well. Mostly flat terrain with small slopes up and down. A few bridges to cross wet areas. Quiet area, dog friendly. Parking is very limited. Overall a nice easy walk for my family.”
