1 / 2Catholic Health Sky Theater Planetarium
π Garden City, NY
Part of the Cradle of Aviation Museum with full-dome planetarium shows including space adventures and kid-friendly programs. Mixed reviews due to ongoing technical issues with sound and visuals.
Loved it. We were at the Sky Theatre at Ocean Paradise today, amazing. The children are 11 years old and 6 years old.
π Family Action Verdict
This planetarium appears to have significant technical issues that severely impact the viewing experience. Based on reviewer feedback, families would likely have better experiences at other planetariums like Vanderbilt. Consider visiting only if major equipment upgrades have been completed.

βCould be so much more. The sound system is less then adequate with noticeable distortion. The voices of the young folks on the taped 1/2 hour were like fingernails on a chalkboard. My expectations of the program were way to high. Typical corporate sponsored letdown. Could be so much more. Maybe they should hire a professional scientist to help correct to shortcomings.β

βTook our 7 year old to see the our sky today experience. Horrible. The narration wasnβt in sync with the movie, the acting was terrible and it wasnβt really helpful for a 7 year old to understand the constellationsβ¦. The 3 of us were so bored.β

βA giant Screensaver that lasted 45 minutes with no begining, middle or end, nor a purpose. Save your money.β
