1 / 2Long Island Children's Museum
π Garden City, NY
Garden City children's museum with 14 hands-on exhibits including TotSpot for under-4s, a KEVA building zone, Sandy Island, Bubbles, and the historic Nunley's Carousel. Daily animal encounters and live theater on-site.
My kids absolutely love the Long Island Childrenβs Museum, and I highly recommend it to anyone with children. It is packed with hands-on activities that keep them engaged for hours. They especially love the Bubbles exhibit and the Tool Box, where they can actually craft with real hammers and wood. The block building, sand play, and music areas are also huge hits with us. βBeyond just play, the educational value is excellent. The Communication Station and Your House, My House (which explores homes around the world) are very well done, as is the Feasts for Beasts animal exhibit. βThey also feature great rotating exhibits. Right now, we really enjoyed the "Emotions at Play" (Pixarβs Inside Out) exhibitβit was a highlight of our recent visit. If youβre looking for a fun, educational day out for the family, this place is a must-visit.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers through early elementary age who want hours of structured hands-on play. Plan a minimum of two hours β most families don't finish all exhibits in one visit. The TotSpot gives under-4s their own protected space, and older kids have full access to the building, science, and performance areas.

βThis was my first time booking a party with LICM and it will not be my last! The coordinator Tiffany had a schedrule ready for me to review when i arrived as well as a designated coat holder for our guests. I chose the pant party package for my sonβs 5th birthday. We were designated two support staff members to help coordinate the party as well as setting up and breaking down the decorations. I also love that they recycled all of the popped balloons and they use it to make fun decor around the museum. Even though our party room slot was only for two hours, our guests were able to explore and enjoy the museum the entire day. The experience was well worth it. I would recommend LICM to any party seeking a fun and affordable experience fo their childβs birthdayβ

βThis was a fantastic day and experience! Dedicated area for kids under 4, but they were still welcome and avke to interact everywhere else with only a few exceptions!! My Grandson (18 months old) had a terrific time !!! All staff members were helpful and great at interacting with kids. They had many staff available to help and, it seemed, to be noting what was a highly interacted with exhibit as well as things that need a polishing up. They do themed events during the year and they are getting ready for winter celebrations ! There was a great deal of educational content as well, not just play zones. Bring a lunch or snacks, there is a cafeteria where you can eat, which has a couple of vending machines, but they are pricey.β

βWinter break can be boring if you have nothing planned. So I take my son to the Children Museum to see the new exhibit "Inside Out" my son had a blast... and not only they opened a new exhibit regarding the ocean life and Long Island, I have to say, it looks great, the kids were taking turns and play together without knowing each other, it was a very good experience. Absolutely recommend.β
