We have been members for three years now, and this has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life to be a member. I’m sad that I waited so long. The gardens are beautiful. The variety of flowers. Trees and foliage are amazing. The water the bridges the sculptures. Everything In the gardens takes you away to a peaceful oasis and erases all of your daily worries and troubles. It is a mental and physical and spiritual retreat every time we come. It is worth every penny, and we will be members for life.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families who want a peaceful outdoor experience that changes with every season. The Lightscape holiday trail is the marquee family event — consistently rated the best year-on-year by returning visitors. The Orchid Show suits older children and adults who appreciate themed installations.

We’ve been going to Lightscape every year for the last 5 years. It is always a delight but this year (2025) has been easily the best. All of the installations are beautiful, and the trail this year is a very nice length and route. You are missing out if you don’t go! Likewise the garden is beautiful year round, and if there’s an event running, or you just want a relaxing morning stroll you will not be disappointed.

I visited the botanic gardens for the second time in December 2025. My first visit was in August 2024 but it was really cool coming to see the holiday lights. I went with some friends the first time and then with some family who lives out of state for the holiday show. We were very impressed both times! But please definitely buy your tickets in advance and be prepared for busy parking lots! (Written 12-21-25)

This year's orchid show was not only spectacular because of the floral beauty, it was thoughtfully curated--keeping to the retro & witty theme "Flower Power"...the music was from the 1960's era, the wood paneling and shag carpet accents were among the many clever backdrops. The volunteers shared interesting facts about the plants and flowers. That enhanced our experience. Lunch was tasty, too!
