1 / 3Climb Nashville East
π Lockeland Springs, TN
Climb Nashville East on Eastland Ave is a small and well-utilized bouldering gym with a cave-like boulder room, a MoonBoard, hangboards, and a training area. Part of the five-location Climb Nashville network.
I wanted to take a moment to highlight my experience tonight at Climb Nashville East. One of the team members, Will, spent nearly an hour walking me through different climbing shoes, explaining the differences, and helping me choose what would best fit my current level of climbing. His knowledge, patience, and dedication to the sport really stood out. Climb Nashville has always been a staple in our cityβIβve been involved off and on since high schoolβbut itβs the community and genuine care shown by their team that makes it such a success. Since returning to the gym over the past month (after being away since COVID), Iβve consistently been impressed. Every staff member (Sam, Graham, Will, Etc.) Iβve interacted with has been supportive, passionate, well-trained, and genuinely pleasant. Nashville is lucky to have a place like thisβwhere people can learn, grow, and connect with others through climbing in such a positive community environment. 10 Stars, if I could. -Logan Y.
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited to older kids and teens already interested in training-focused bouldering. The small gym size, MoonBoard, and training-heavy layout skew toward intermediate and advanced climbers rather than casual family visits. Younger or first-time climbers will find a wider beginner range at Climb Nashville West or The Crag.

βClimb east is a very small climbing gym but the space is very well utilized. on the left of the entrance, there is a pretty decent training room with a MOON board and various hang boards. on the right of the entrance there is a small cave-like bouldering room with plenty of routes. No belay here though. One cool feature was the weightlifting and exercise room above the bouldering section. it's hard to explain but it's visible in photos. It's like a mezzanine. Overall a very chill and low-key climbing gym that I enjoyed visiting. much less busy that climb west, but if you get a day pass you can visit both locations. πβ

βThe thing that stood out the most about this place was how grimy it was. There was mold/slime in the water refill station, the holds were greasy and clear they aren't washed with any frequency and the gym equipment and weights had a layer of grime on them. There is a clear lack of pride of ownership. The routes are pretty soft and confidence boosting. If you're a V8+ climber, you can probably flash all the routes in an hour.β

βI feel bad for the climbers who have to make this their gym. The place doesn't look like its been updated in 20 years. The wall layout doesn't make sense and there are giant metal supports that are in the fall zone of the steep climbing. The place is really dirty, mold on the drinking fountains, dust everywhere, and the holds feel gummy from age and not being cleaned enough. The setting is soft and the cruxes are basic. Felt like a gym that was just squeezing out what profit they could with no regard for the product. I expected a lot more from a gym in Nashville.β

Overview
Climb Nashville East is the most compact site in the Climb Nashville network, fitting a cave-style bouldering room, a MoonBoard, and a dedicated training area with hangboards into a tight and functional footprint. No belay or roped climbing β bouldering only. Staff have been praised individually for deep product knowledge and personal attention. Recent reviews flag cleanliness notes including mold on water refill stations and dusty equipment, which prospective visitors should factor in.
