We love Red Park in Shelby Park. Itβs a clean playground with lots of fun activities for toddlers. There are swings. A lot of walking/running paved trails zooming throughout the park. There are baseball fields, a nature center, a dirt park, and so much more. Itβs also surrounded by fields and has a huge historic railroad bridge high up in the front entrance. Itβs clean, and highly populated with hikers, runners, bicyclists, etc. I always feel safe here.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and younger children who want a playground with extensive surrounding amenities. The mommy-and-baby swing is a genuine draw for parents of infants. Older kids benefit from the trails, baseball fields, and nature center, making this a half-day destination within Shelby Park.

Overview
Set inside the expansive Shelby Park on Nashville's east side, Red Park is a clean, well-maintained playground popular with toddler and preschool families. Standout features include a mommy-and-baby swing alongside standard swings, paved walking and running trails threading through the broader park, baseball fields, a dirt bike area, and a nature center. The surrounding open fields give children room to run beyond the playground structure.
