Spacious park is only missing is the restroom unless I missed it. 2 areas of swings for both babies and older. 4 jungle gym, 3 basketball courts, and a handball court. I didn't walk further in to explore more. Went on a weekend 2 hours after school closed. Not crowded. And plenty of parking along the street.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with kids of various ages who want lots of playground variety and don't mind bringing their own supplies. The multiple play structures and unique basketball hoops make it appealing, but plan ahead for no restroom access and watch younger children carefully due to uneven surfaces.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Bring water and snacks since there are no restroom facilities
⏰Watch for raised mats and uneven surfaces that could cause trips and falls
🎟️Visit on weekdays or off-peak hours to avoid crowds
πŸš—Take advantage of free street parking right at the entrance

β€œWould be a 5 star playground if there were restrooms, but otherwise a great playground. 3 play structures for various ages featuring 5 slides, 2 sets of monkey bars, 6 standard and 6 baby swings, 18 benches, free street parking just in front of the entrance. Looks like possibly a splash pad, but was not operating during our visit. There’s also an entrance to Alley Pond Park with a paved walking path.”

β€œThere are lower basketball hoops here that the kids can dunk on. That's great! I've never seen that anywhere else in a public park. Not gonna lie, it's pretty fun for us old geezers too. Make sure to bring your kid though, it's against the law for an adult to be in a playground unless accompanied by a child.”

Overview

Oakland Gardens Playground features three separate play structures with five slides, multiple sets of monkey bars, standard and baby swings, and basketball courts. The spacious layout accommodates children of various ages, though families should plan ahead as there are no restroom facilities and the playground requires better maintenance with uneven surfaces in some areas.
