1 / 2Del Rey Lagoon
π Playa del Rey, CA
Waterfront park beside the Marina Del Rey boat channel featuring a man-made lagoon, children's playground, lighted basketball courts, and baseball diamond. Free parking available; beach access steps away. Toddler-friendly with open grassy areas.
Really love the park which offefs gorgeous beach area. While not too busy, except on weekends, it's a perfect place to go to see the sunset when you don't have a lot of time or you want to enjoy the Pacific Ocean or be at the park all day. There is plenty of street parking, and once out of the car, you can relax right away. What I love the most about this area is that you can enjoy the park, stroll on the beach, sit to watch the sunset, or grab a bike and go for a ride. It's just a wonderful place that offers a slice of SoCal heaven that isn't too far from home.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and younger children who want a relaxed beach-adjacent outing without the crowds of Santa Monica. The playground and open lawn give kids space to run, and the waterfowl are a genuine draw for younger ones. Weekday visits make parking straightforward; weekend afternoons fill quickly.

βCute little neighborhood park. Perfect place to take your dog on a light stroll or access the beach from. Came across so many cute doggies at the park . Palm trees around the park were so picturesque. There's an old baseball diamond/field here but I'm not sure if it's used for baseball anymore. Ample street parking available . Make sure to read the parking signs posted.β

βLovely and scenic area. Beautiful little playground thatβs great for the kids. Amazing places to host small parties or picnics with the family. Just a small warning that homelessness is seen around the bathrooms with some trash getting built up.β

βNice and relaxing place, weekdays is easy to find parking space however weekends tend to be packed. There's also a little playground for the kiddos and a cool place to go for a walk.β

Overview
Del Rey Lagoon sits at the mouth of Marina Del Rey, offering direct views of boats entering and exiting the harbor alongside a children's playground, open grass for picnics, and a variety of resident waterfowl. Lighted courts and a baseball diamond round out the sports facilities. The lagoon itself is non-swimming, and the park connects directly to the beach strip for sand access.
