Fort Wayne Zoo

“Fort Wayne Zoo is one of those places that really does feel special to have in our community. I have been coming here for years with my kids, and it continues to grow, improve, and offer more every time. This year I bought a season pass again, and the process was easy. The team at the front gate helped update my information and made everything simple. There is a lot to see and do here, so the map is genuinely helpful. I also really appreciate the directional signs throughout the zoo. They do more than point you toward exhibits — some of them even tell you how many minutes it will take to walk to certain areas. That is such a thoughtful detail, especially for families trying to plan the day. The animal experiences are a big part of what makes the zoo memorable. I have fed the giraffes before, and that is a really special experience. I was not able to do it on this visit because they were farther out in the habitat, but it is definitely something worth trying when available. You can also brush goats, feed animals, ride the Sky Safari, take the Z.O. & O. Railroad, enjoy the carousel, and explore a lot of different themed areas. On this visit, I got to see the kangaroos cooling off and hanging out in the shade, which was fun to watch. I still have not caught the Tasmanian devil out yet, and I am curious if anyone else has had better timing because I would love to see that someday. The staff also stood out to me. At one point I was looking over my map trying to figure out where to go next, and someone noticed and offered to help. That kind of thing makes the place feel welcoming instead of overwhelming. The membership options are also worth looking at if you plan to come more than once. The signs during my visit showed memberships starting as low as $75, with season-long admission, discounts at other zoos and aquariums, gift shop savings, and other benefits. Overall, Fort Wayne Zoo is a well-run, thoughtful, and memorable place. It has great animal areas, helpful signage, fun rides and experiences, and a lot of heart behind it. I am thankful we have it here in Northeast Indiana.”

“This is a wonderful zoo! Well laid out, lots of shady walking paths and a good variety of exhibits. Easy access for strollers or wheel chairs too. Food and drink is pricy as anywhere but you can bring in your own snacks and drinks so plan ahead.”

“This is a fantastic zoo for the city. Had a great time walking through and seeing all the animals. They put on some really awesome events as well. Zoofari is my absolute fave and the glow wild mile was awesome. I love coming here!”
