1 / 3Hockey Rink Skatepark
π Jersey City, NY
Well-maintained skate park with smooth surfaces perfect for beginners learning to skateboard or rollerblade. Best visited during quieter school hours to avoid crowds.
Took my son to learn how to skateboard and he loved it. We went when most kids had school so not sure how crowded it gets. Place is pretty well kept and clean, the ground is nice a smooth. Lots of things to do slide and do tricks on
π Family Action Verdict
Best for kids learning to skateboard or rollerblade, especially during school hours when it's less crowded. The recent resurfacing makes it ideal for beginners, but parents should be prepared for a small space that fills up quickly with mixed age groups and different types of wheeled sports.

βThe fact that this exists at all is a good asset for the neighborhood, but I can only give 2 stars because it needs to be re-surfaced so bad it is almost unusable. I went here to roller blade and wasn't really able to because the pavement is so poorly maintained. UPDATE MAY 2021 - This has now been re-surfaced and it's great! I'm sure the skateboarders are missing the quarter pipe, and hopefully it will be returned for them, but what an improvement!β

βRecently resurfaced so it's nice and smooth, and the old bondoβd ramps were just replaced with metal ones: there is a big quarter pipe and a wedge with a funbox in between. Aside from that, there are ledges, flat bars, and a parking block. No shade to speak of. Low key spot to practice flatground and ledge tricks, and the city didnβt ruin the plaza vibe by trying to jam too many ramps in.β

βWhen not packed, it is a lot of fun. When other visitors respect the others, it is the real deal. I like it here and recommend.β
