1 / 3J.J. Byrne Playground
π Brooklyn, NY
Park Slope playground featuring water button-activated fountains, a gated toddler area near the Old Stone House, age-appropriate climbing structures, a large turf field for soccer and football, and a small farm garden. Free entry.
A wonderful urban oasis for kids and adults, delighting with a sense of history and magnificence. There is a lovely water fountain in the center of the park, providing cool water splashes during sweltering summer days. There are swings, jumble gyms, and an artificial lawn area. The most famous structure is the Old Stone House building which has been beautifully restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are also many smaller garden areas with metal tables and chairs. The Farm Garden is absolutely beautiful and provides a wonderful experience for everyone interested in learning about how to grow vegetables, berries and flowers. A true gem.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of all ages who want an active, social playground with water play in summer and a genuine community feel. The turf field expands the offering beyond the play structures for older children. Visit outside the after-school rush for more relaxed access to equipment.

βThis park is packed with kids after school hours. It's great for kids who love a busy park. There are water features activated by 2 button timers. There is also a large turf in the back for football/soccer, which often has after-school sessions regularly. There are many nannies and regulars that live in the park slope area. There is a gated baby play area near the Stonehouse. The Stonehouse often helps host birthday parties and performers who use the park space throughout the year. Parents can feel safe since this park is in a very child friendly neighborhood.β

βLove this playground! It is age-appropriate for every kid. Pretty friendly for adult adults as well not necessarily the parents. Various areas have various things you can enjoy. Everybody can find something for their own liking here. Also, my favorite thing is the small gardens that allow have a gathering for little birthday parties. You can book them for the super reasonable prize on their website. I would definitely recommend to make sure you do it in a couple months at once because itβs a very popular place in the Neighbourhood and gets booked up fast.β
