1 / 3Bensonhurst Park
📍 Brooklyn, NY
Recently renovated Brooklyn shoreline park with dedicated toddler and older-child play areas, spray showers, game tables, basketball and handball courts, and waterfront fishing access. Free entry and parking.
Bensonhurst Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the city. The atmosphere is lively, with lots of happy people enjoying their time. Many were fishing along the shore, and the view—especially at sunset—is absolutely stunning.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for Brooklyn families with kids of mixed ages who want a full outdoor day combining playgrounds, sports, and waterfront access at no cost. The renovation delivered genuinely good infrastructure. Weekday visits avoid summer crowds and give kids more space on the play equipment. Bring your own snacks and water — no on-site food confirmed.

“We went as a family and had a great time. You can play a sport, let the kids play at the playground there, and also have a picnic.”

“Bensonhurst got a whole new park recently. Complete renovation a couple years back—new playgrounds with separate areas for little kids and older ones, spray showers, game tables, actual seating. Belt Parkway cuts it in half but the waterfront side has nice views of the bay. Basketball and handball courts, big field for soccer or softball. Bathrooms are decent, paths are good for walking or biking. Gets busy on summer weekends but never feels insane. Solid neighborhood spot now.”

“Everyone seems to keep putting Ceasars Bay pics up for this place idk why cuz this deff ain’t Ceasars Bay. This park has become filthy with trash everywhere and hoodlums riding around the fields with their little E-scooters. Also basketball courts are run down with broken bent rims and no nets of course. You really can’t have anything nice in Bath Beach anymore. Seems like park dept. just gave up and rightfully so I’d think. Well I tried my best to take vids and pics not showing the garbage flying around everywhere so hope you all enjoy. I’ll swing thru winter time for some snow shots”

Overview
Bensonhurst Park sits along Brooklyn's shoreline and was fully renovated within the last few years. Separate playground zones serve toddlers and older children. Spray showers are available seasonally. The waterfront side — split from the main park by the Belt Parkway — offers bay views and fishing spots. Game tables, sports courts, and ample seating support extended visits. Recent reviews flag inconsistent maintenance and cleanliness.
