1 / 2J. Owen Grundy Playground
π Jersey City, NY
Convenient waterfront playground near PATH station with challenging equipment better suited for older children due to safety gaps and large slides.
Great little playground close to the Path Station and Hyatt House hotel. I read in other reviews that the only entry was up two steps. There is a second entry point with a wide ramp. BUT both entrances request you leave strollers outside the playground. There are great play activities and the surface is soft enough to mitigate most falls. My 4 year old grandchild played her while we were staying at the Hyatt. And, yes, thanks to other reviews I didn't allow her onto the BIG slide...but it looked like fun.
π Family Action Verdict
Best suited for older children (8+) who can safely navigate the challenging equipment. Parents with toddlers should exercise extreme caution due to safety gaps and difficult big slide access. The waterfront location is convenient for tourists, but supervision requirements are high.

βGreat playground in the J. Owen Grundy park. They have an area for little kids, as well as an area for kids slightly older than they have closed some of the gaps mentioned in other reviews so itβs safe for kids.β

βSmall park located on the waterfront ar exchange place. Some slides are too large for smaller children and some safety cone also to be aware of.β

βThis park, despite an amazing location, can be really dangerous for young kids. - only one bench to sit, and itβs by the big kid area - strollers canβt enter the park (stairs). I have two kids, having to hold my baby while keeping an eye on the toddler was tough - the big kids area is βtooβ accessible : the staircase makes it possible for toddlers to climb up, and the risk of falling down the openings is very scaryβ

Overview
J. Owen Grundy Playground features separate play areas for different ages, including challenging slides and climbing equipment on soft surfaces. Located at Exchange Place waterfront with pram-accessible ramp entry, though safety gaps and large slides require careful supervision for younger children.
