1 / 2James M. Nederlander Theatre
📍 Chicago Loop, IL
Restored 1926 theater in downtown Chicago presenting major Broadway musicals with Far East-inspired décor, staggered seating for clear views, suite service packages, accessible seating, and on-site parking nearby.
Gorgeous theater! They don't make theaters like this anymore. I also liked that the seats are staggered so you aren't sitting directly behind someone - great for short people like myself. Also, the parking garage is a short walk down the street. Don't forget to take advantage of the buy-ahead discounted parking rates for your show!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Families with children old enough to engage with full Broadway productions and follow theater etiquette will find this venue exceptional. The staggered seating means shorter family members aren't blocked by adults in front. Suite packages simplify intermission logistics considerably.

“Beautiful theater. And they have security to assist during intermission to keep the lines flowing for bathrooms and refreshments. People were ridiculous and complaining, but to us it was handled very well. Surprised at how many people don't have theater etiquette! We love this theater and are always pleased with their productions!”

“We saw the final performance of Hell’s Kitchen on Sunday afternoon. The show was fantastic! The theatre is one of Chicago’s jewels. Beautiful, not a bad seat in the auditorium. We had the suite service package which we enjoyed and would do again. Light snacks and beverages included, plus easy access to suite only restrooms.”

“We loved the experience in this theater. Beautiful, nice staff, well organized, comfortable seats, many options for snacks, clean bathrooms, and an amazing structure. We were there for the Sound of Music Broadway in Chicago and we had a wonderful time.”
