1 / 2LA Kings Ice
π Rolling Hills Estates, CA
Indoor ice skating rink offering public skating sessions and Learn to Skate programs. Best known for their parent-child skating classes and kid-friendly coaching approach.
Our family learned to skate together here through their Learn to Skate program (Lions and Cubs - parent and me class) when our son turned 3. Coaches are great with kids and our son has loved coming to every class/ practice for the past year and a half. Would recommend padding up the kiddos when they learn so falling isn't an issue! There's public skate everyday and private lessons are offered at this time as well. Extra plus is, it's a great indoor activity for a hot or rainy day. βΊοΈ
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with young children (3+) wanting to learn skating together through their parent-child programs. The coaches are reportedly excellent with kids and it's a solid indoor activity option. However, call ahead to confirm programs are running as communication can be inconsistent.

βThis is where I go to secretly hone my hockey skills. I am hoping to be drafted to NHL or the right AHL team soon. Smaller than normal arena but not crowded at all. Great area to learn how to skate for beginners.β

βWhen it is not too crowded, it's a great place to skate. The in-house hockey league is great, and there are many offers to learn to skate. Love skating there.β

βThis place has been here for decades and enjoyed by generation to the next. Staff here are always friendly and their rented equipment are in good condition. Come during the weekdays after lunch when it's slow if you want to learn or enjoy the open space.β
