I had such a great time at the National Aquarium. The exhibits are beautifully designed, the animals look well‑cared for, and the whole place feels immersive from the moment you walk in. I especially loved the jellyfish and the rainforest section — both were stunning and so calming to explore. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and everything was clean and well‑organized. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone visiting the area. I left feeling amazed and already want to go back.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 5 and up who can walk the entire multi-floor route independently — strollers are not permitted inside. Timed entry tickets control the crowd flow and weekends and school holidays remains generate dense conditions at peak exhibit areas.

An outstanding aquarium, multiple floors of unique exhibits that are both educational and entertaining. Great staff awareness that gets transmitted so well if you just ask for guidance. Learned so much. Loved the sharks, the reefs, the worldwide awareness, and I could have watched the sloths for hours. Tip: Friday nights are half-price, and they also have reduced parking at three neighborhood parking garages if purchased online.

Spent so many hours at this aquarium - the exhibits are well arranged and very well maintained. There is an abundance of fish, an Amazon rainforest with birds and two sloths, dolphins, sharks seating so you can enjoy the tanks and very informative displays. We've been to quite a few aquariums and this may be our fave. Went on a Saturday so it was a little crowded but still a very enjoyable experience.

Overall expansive and nice aquarium, but needs better crowd control. Came during MLK weekend and boy it’s super packed. Like every exhibit was filled with hoards of people and kids. The design and layout of the aquarium is nice because it forces you to go in a single direction so you get to see almost every exhibit. But the overcrowding and heat from the amount of people gets unbearable at times. Definitely should coat check. Also, no strollers allowed so make your little ones can walk the entire way or you’ll be carrying them from time to go. Also feel like they need to more food and snack stations, as the few and far in between they had had long lines. The highlight must be the dolphins exhibit! Make sure to validate your parking ticket at the exit for a discount!
