1 / 3Paul Raimonda Playground
đ Queens, NY
Large Astoria community playground with equipment for all ages, handball and basketball courts, a workout area, and plenty of open space. No restrooms on-site and parking in the surrounding streets can take over 30 minutes.
Is very good place but no parking around ( 34 minutes to get one)
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 2â10 who can walk or take the subway. The variety of activities across a large space keeps different ages engaged simultaneously. Families relying on a car should budget serious time for parking, and those needing restrooms should plan a stop elsewhere beforehand.

âThe great thing about this playground is that it is big. Plenty of space for different activities, including handball and basketball court, a playground, a workout area, a nice section to just sit and chill, and a big patch of asphalt (for those of you who come to parks for more asphalt). Kid's playground is aimed at younger kids but there is a funky climbing structure that older kids may like. Despite its size it can get busy because it is kind of the only park in that general area of Astoria.â

âThe kids enjoyed the variety of things that are available. Ages 2, 5 and 10 and each were entertained.â

Overview
Paul Raimonda Playground spans a generous footprint with climbing structures, swings, handball and basketball courts, and a dedicated adult workout area. It's the primary park serving the Astoria neighbourhood and draws consistent crowds. The play equipment skews toward younger kids. No bathroom facilities are on-site. Street parking in the dense surrounding blocks is genuinely difficult.
