1 / 3Pier 25 at Hudson River Park
π Manhattan, NY
A nearly 1,000-foot pier jutting into the Hudson River with mini golf, children's playgrounds, beach volleyball courts, and an on-site cafe. Sweeping Manhattan and New Jersey skyline views from the waterfront.
Pier 25 in Hudson River Park stands out as one of Lower Manhattanβs most vibrant and family-friendly waterfront destinations. Stretching nearly 1,000 feet into the Hudson River, it offers sweeping skyline views of both Manhattan and New Jersey that make it a perfect backdrop for leisure and recreation. The pierβs thoughtfully designed amenities include an 18-hole mini-golf course, sand volleyball courts, a turf field, and one of the cityβs most celebrated childrenβs playgrounds. Visitors consistently praise the areaβs clean, well-maintained atmosphere and the balance between activity and relaxation it provides. Whether youβre meeting friends for a casual afternoon or bringing children for outdoor play, Pier 25 delivers a versatile experience that feels refreshingly open within the dense cityscape. The waterfront breeze and gentle hum of boats nearby add to its laid-back charm. On weekends, however, the mini-golf course and playground can become quite crowded, so arriving earlier in the day ensures a more relaxed visit. The pierβs design also encourages unhurried walks and sunset viewing, making it equally appealing for couples or solo visitors.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families in Lower Manhattan wanting outdoor recreation with genuine waterfront atmosphere rather than a standard city park. Mini golf and playgrounds cover different age groups simultaneously, making it practical for mixed families. Arrive early on weekends to access equipment without waiting.

βAfter lots of walking in the hot city streets it was lovely to be by the water in this beautiful park. All the piers are fantastic with loads to do. There's mini golf, basketball, play areas, trails, food and a carnival atmosphere. We watched the sunset and it was stunning. Vibrant fun place. Perfect for families.β

βBeautiful view. Perfect to visit when hudson river brings in ice sheets at very low temperature. It has a small eatery. Very few places to sit. Great tracks for jogging and walking. Restroom nearby. To have a meal or coffee, be willing to walk for about 10 minutes.β

βWhat an enjoyable place to take it in. Watched people relax looking at the boats on the Hudson River and people playing beach volleyball. Such a great spot.β

Overview
Pier 25 extends nearly 1,000 feet into the Hudson River from Lower Manhattan, combining mini golf, multiple playgrounds, beach volleyball courts, and an on-site cafe with panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson. Waterfront breezes provide natural cooling on warm days. The open layout suits strolling, watching river traffic, and picnicking. Dining options beyond the pier cafe require a short walk.
