Playground
📍 Ramsey, NY
Free outdoor playground in Ramsey with pirate-themed and castle-themed sections, multiple swings, a large sandbox, and a small train play structure. Natural shade throughout and separate zones for different age groups.
Great place, Ground so comfy soft and surrounded by natural green, and quiet my kids love it.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
A practical free playground for families with children aged 1–8. The dual-theme layout and sandbox give kids enough variation to stay engaged across a longer visit. The proximity to active train tracks adds incidental interest for train-obsessed children. Plan bathroom stops before arriving as facilities have restricted hours.

“One part of the playground is pirate-themed and another part is Castle themed and they're both pretty cool. They have a bunch of swings and a big sandbox and a small train you can play in. It's close to the train tracks so every once in a while you can watch the train go by. Some kids like watching the train. I've never heard the train make any loud noises, but it's possible that it would blow its horn under certain circumstances. Outside of the playground they have a bunch of fields where different sports teams play and it looks like they have pickleball and tennis on the other side of the playground as well. Parking area has always had plenty of space when I've gone, but if there are a couple different teams with games, the parking lot might fill up.”

“Great playground with an area for small children and another area for bigger kids. Plenty of swings and slides and lots of shade! Huge sandbox with lots of toys. It’s a bit hidden behind the basketball court. There’s a snack stand that is open when there is a baseball game and the public bathrooms are only open then as well so be prepared that there may not be a bathroom accessible otherwise. Plenty of parking.”

Overview
This Ramsey playground features two distinct themed sections — pirate and castle — alongside multiple swings, a large sandbox with communal toys, and a small play train positioned near the active rail line. Natural shade covers much of the play area. A snack stand and public restrooms operate on-site during baseball games only. The playground is tucked behind the basketball court and takes a moment to locate on first visit.
