1 / 2Regal UA Kaufman Astoria
π Queens, NY
Comfortable Queens cinema with spacious reclining seats, clean facilities, and free rooftop parking. Great for families wanting a movie experience without the Manhattan trip.
I recently watched the trendy "Wuthering Heights" movie with Margo Robbie and Jacob Elordi in the main roles at newly π€© renovated RPX auditorium at Regal Kaufman Astoria. The movie was over hyped and i still don't get π why the distributors showed it as a Valentines day "romance" movie π€ Nevertheless, this review isn't about a movie but about my home theater π. Prehistory: for as far I can remember Astoria Kauffman theater was old and shabby. Therefore, my main go-to movie theaters were in Manhattan, as I knew that for the same price, I can see a movie elsewhere. So, when I heard about newly finished renovations at Astoria, I was so happy) π₯³π₯³ After a while being "away from home theatre", I was happy to visit Astoria's renovated Regal cinema. My home theatre Regal is finally getting a long requested renovation! Even though, I loved the new recliner seats, the head cushions and the swivel tables, I am still awaiting for further renovations of the building, so it would look as good as Regal Union Square;) Happy to see it surviving through Covid and stuff, so I can watch new blockbusters there. Highly recommend! P.s. Regal management, if you really listen to people's thoughts and opinions, offer savory and sweet popcorn (cheddar and caramel), thanks! π
π Family Action Verdict
This is an excellent choice for families with children of all ages seeking a comfortable movie experience in Queens. The renovated facilities, spacious reclining seats, and free parking make it particularly appealing for parents who want convenience without traveling to Manhattan. The theater offers arcade games for kids and patient staff, though families should consider bringing their own snacks due to quality concerns with concessions.

βMy family and I went here for a movie. 5 Stars will recommend. I love AMC but I loved Regal more. We saw Now You See Me and it was lovely. After a good vacation and 2 weeks away and return to nyc we needed this movie to guide us gently back into our regular lives. What a lovely treat this Cinema is. The popcorn always perfect! The staff always lovely. And it has games! My kids and grandkids and we love it here. Not sure who the guy who served us was but he had curly hair and was very nice to us. Very patient and kind to my grandkids too. The lady checking tickets was lovely and kind to us and helped guide us to the theatre. Theatre was clean and seats actually move back and forth. However, it is confusing. We have to press only one button to move the front part and foot part of the seat. But VERY cozy. Will visit again. Marissa and I go to Astoria very few times but now we have reason to go back again. Felt nice to sit in a cozy room with family in front of a screen again. Always a nice feeling. -Review from Jack and Marissaβ

βIt's clean and convenient. There are recliner seats with swivel tables. The seating is spaced out well. The sound system was tuned well. There are kiosks for ordering food and tickets (and they actually work well unlike some other theaters). It's definitely one of the better Regal theaters in the country and my favorite one. As for the location, there is parking and it's easily accessible by public transportation. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby.β

βWe visited this location to watch Hoppers and had a fairly good experience. This location is pretty big but it felt empty especially the main lobby area. The staff were friendly and the seats were comfy especially when reclined. One big plus is that this place has free parking on the roof of this building. We got the nachos and the chips and cheese were so overly salty that we barely ate half of it. But the Stary Dragon Fruit drink was pretty good.β
