1 / 3Sacred Heart University Discovery Science Center and Planetarium
π Bridgeport, NY
Interactive science center with hands-on exhibits, planetarium shows, and popular birthday party packages. Staff are known for making science learning engaging and fun for young children.
We had our son's 5th birthday party there this weekend and wow was it a success!! Not only did I have parents coming up to me, thanking me for having it there, but during the walk through space planetarium show I overheard one of my son's friends say to him "this is the best birthday party I've ever been to. Thanks for having it here!", no exaggeration! Lyn, the guest services manager, was so kind and attentive. She was super fast to respond and gave great advice. Kevin and Tara, our party hosts were incredible at wrangling 25 5 year olds, and constantly checked in with me to see how I felt about how things were going. And the pizza they order is AWESOME! Everyone left so happy. One of our guests, who already had a party planned for their child, is now switching to the museum because of how much fun it was!! 12/10 recommend for your kids next party- would absolutely do it again!! Thank you so much to Lyn, and team!
π Family Action Verdict
This is an ideal destination for families with young children who want hands-on science learning and stellar birthday party experiences. The passionate staff make learning fun and the planetarium is a real highlight. Be aware that shows may be adjusted based on the audience age, so it's primarily designed for kids rather than adult education.

βWe had tickets to see Mesmerica so we went early so we could check out the Science Center & Museum. Itβs organized well and thereβs quite a bit of stuff to see. Itβs a good place to bring kids as thereβs a lot for them to see that they probably havenβt seen/done before. Itβs not really big so itβs not something that you need to devote half a day to etc. The Mesmerica is a separate show thatβs not included in the admission to the museum. Mesmerica was excellent is is worth experiencing. The Discovery Science Museum is pretty easy to get to as itβs on a main street and not far from Route 15 (Merritt Parkway). Thereβs parking in front of the museum as well as on the side of the building.β

βCanβt say enough about this placeβI love going with both my friends and family!! The staff at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport are truly outstanding! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly engaging with the kids. They go beyond just supervising exhibits- they take the time to spark curiosity and make learning fun. Their passion for science and education shines through and makes the whole experience even more memorable. The planetarium is super cool and offers a unique, immersive experience that makes learning about space truly exciting!β

βCannot say enough about this gem. So much fun for kids. Tons of activities to keep them entertained and also very instructional. If the kids are too young for the science lessons it doesnβt matter because there are so many activities to do. Planetarium movies are great and the kids we gad with us were a little young to understand the message but still loved it.β
