SeaGlass Carousel
📍 Manhattan, NY
Fish-shaped ride pods spin through illuminated ocean scenery at Battery Park. All ages welcome, no advance tickets needed, and waits average under 15 minutes on weekday evenings.
Love it!!! 3-minute ride and $6 per person. Ride at night because the colors are beautiful. Battery Park is under construction and quite dark so if you are a tourist, just be careful of others loitering in the park. This carousel is a 2-minute walk from the Staten Island Ferry. I love how the staff claps their hands at the end of the ride and the music is appropriate for the experience. The staff are friendly and accommodate patrons taking photos. Take lots of photos/videos and enjoy!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for young children and ferry-day visitors who want a short, magical detour. Toddlers love the fish pods and music at any hour; families with older kids get the most out of an evening visit when the lighting is at full effect. Works well as a five-minute spontaneous stop or a deliberate night-out centerpiece near the ferry terminal.

“We took the train into the city today from Stamford. It was our 4 year olds first train into New York Grand Central. We wanted to walk and enjoy the beautiful weather! We spontaneously decided on heading towards SeaGlass Carousel then dinner. My son loved the carousel. We went on it twice! The staff was great and very kind. I loved atmosphere and how unique. It was in the afternoon so we didn’t get the full effect of the evening lights however, still magical to experience.”

“Beautiful to watch. Great for children with their family to ride. After our tours to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, we checked out this beautiful carousel.”

“The lights are being repaired for a while, but the music and spinning fish shapes are still lovely. $6 per person person ride. Battery park is a fun stop before a ferry ride.”
