Unfortunately, we didn’t pass the Bloody Circus, but it was definitely quite a terrifying and fun experience. We were first led into an elevator of the building and leading up to the 3rd floor is an dark hallway with phones that lead you to the experience right away! Joe was an amazing help throughout the escape room as we consistently needed hints as our group wasn’t the brightest. Definitely will come back for another escape room experience!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 9 and up who enjoy problem-solving under pressure and aren't unsettled by dark or horror-adjacent themes. The Rikers room is the most accessible for younger players. The Bloody Circus and Haunted Hotel skew more intense. Game masters keep every group engaged regardless of completion.

β€œBrainXcape NYC is one of the most engaging escape room experiences I’ve done. The puzzles are clever, immersive, and keep you thinking the entire time. It’s the kind of place where you get so into the game that you completely lose track of time. Honestly, if I could, I would go every day. It’s that fun. Highly recommend it if you enjoy escape rooms or are looking for something different to do with friends.”

β€œI did the Rikers 1932 room with the 9-year-old I babysit, and we had an absolute blast! It was so fun to watch him really use his brain and get into the puzzles. Ryan helped us during the experience and was incredibly helpful and funny, which made it even better. We didn’t quite complete the room, but we had a great time and will definitely be back!”
